County Commission meets Monday

The Gray County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 a.m., Monday to consider the purchase of a dozer rear ripper for Precinct 3. The Commission will also consider modifying its contract with the USDA Forest Service and consider a road crossing request on McClellan Road by Scout Energy Partners.

    You can’t keep 'A Rebel Woman' down

    Thanks to a solid and emotional performance Wednesday night at the M.K. Brown Memorial Auditorium, Pampa High School will advance to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Area Level Competition for its one-act play, “A Rebel Woman in Texas.”

    “Rebel” is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s tragedy, “Antigone,” and is set during the American Civil War on a plantation in Texas.

    The Pampa City Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved amending the city’s Landscaping Ordinance, adding a point system based on street linear footage and assigning values for various landscaping, plantings and existing trees.

    The amendment also establishes a Landscape Review Panel, providing for potential appeals by business owners who may find challenges in meeting the new requirements.

    NWS storm spotter training in Pampa

    The National Weather Service in Amarillo and the Pampa Office of Emergency Management will host a SKYWARN Spotter training session at 9 a.m. April 5 at Pampa City Hall, 200 W. Foster Ave.

    The SKYWARN spotter training session is free and open to the public. The session will last approximately two hours.
